Greetings
 |
As an importer and distributor of electronic devices, TOMEN Electronics Corp. has supplied the market with technologically cutting-edge semiconductors and other foreign-made products since the company's founding in 1972. In doing so, it has continually followed the corporate philosophy: "We will meet the emerging needs of society through information and innovation."
Today, our overseas suppliers number over 100 companies and include not only Western manufacturers but recently also semiconductor and information equipment makers in the Asia-Pacific region.
|
Meanwhile, we deliver products to over 1,000 customers in wide-ranging
fields, such as information, telecommunications, home electronics, industrial
equipment, entertainment and automotives. This is made possible with the
support and guidance of our customers.
We are now seeing economic recovery, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region,
from the global recession triggered by the Lehman shock two years ago.
With this, the world's semiconductor industry is expecting a rapid expansion
of demand in electronic products. We are confident that this fiscal year
will be one in which the TOMEN Group will make a dramatic leap as a company
that many customers rely on and trust. I have always believed that for
the TOMEN Group to be valued by customers as a top provider of products,
it is essential that we not only enrich our basic functions as a semiconductor
trading house by providing stable and consistent services--from product
procurement to supply--but also focus even harder on the following points.
| 1. |
The application of high technology and product knowledge to each process, from product design to its execution and mass production, and the proposal and provision of solutions that are truly required by customers |
| 2. |
The differentiation through the provision of supply chain management services
--such as the management of quality, delivery dates and logistics--with
a focus on the Asia-Pacific region, and the reinforcement of various functions |
| 3. |
Acceleration of the decision-making process and enhancement of service
processing capabilities by spreading and enrooting the spirit of "Genchi
genbutsu" (going to see for oneself rather than relying on second-hand
information) throughout the TOMEN Group, both in Japan and abroad |
Global reorganization, centering on leading electronics and other major manufacturers, is gathering momentum in the semiconductor industry. We believe that there is a need for each employee to go back to basics and give serious thought to what needs to be done in order for the TOMEN Group to survive such reorganization. It is when each employee can view all matters in the first person that responsibilities become clarified and the relationship of trust with valued customers and partners are reinforced.
The shift to overseas manufacturing is expected to accelerate even further in the electronics industry. It is vital that we continually take a panoramic view of the world in our business strategy and think in terms of the whole group. We have no doubt that it is by building an in-house structure that enables us to provide the same high-quality services from every one of our bases that we will be able to capture the faith of our customers and partners.
The TOMEN Group has formulated its medium-term plan on the basis of the aforementioned, and specifically, will carry out the following with certainty amidst the current harsh economic climate.
| 1. |
Earn the satisfaction of our customers by thoroughly executing sales efforts
focused around demand creation |
| 2. |
Promote efficient management by accelerating the selection and concentration
it requires |
| 3. |
Improve and expand overseas business development with a focus on the Asia
Pacific region |
In closing, the TOMEN Electronics Corp. will aim at all times to maximize its corporate value and meet the expectations of its stakeholders. We will respond to global environmental needs, continue to grow as a company that contributes to the advancement of society and carry out harmonious management, which will enable us to be a good corporate citizen that fulfills its responsibilities to society. We thank you for your support and look forward to your continued patronage.
